The IFPA is a not-for-profit property insurance association supported by nearly 500 Illinois insurance companies. It was formed in 1968 to provide basic and affordable property insurance to applicants in urban areas in Illinois who are unable to purchase coverage through the standard insurance market for reasons beyond their control. FAIR is an acronym for Fair Access to Insurance Requirements. The FAIR Plan is considered a market of last resort. The FAIR Plan currently offers Dwelling Fire, Commercial Fire and a wide range of Homeowners coverage on a statewide basis.
The Illinois FAIR Plan is considered to be one of the top FAIR Plans in the country based the products and services it offers, it's excellent working relationship with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation - Division of Insurance, and the support it has received from the Industry including their effective participation on the Governing Committee.
The American Association of Insurance Services is a national insurance advisory organization that develops policy forms, manual rules, and rating information used by more than 600 property/casualty companies throughout the United States.
